Real events stay fixed to their true dates — the Reformation is still 1517, the Great War still begins in 1914 — but running alongside them is the Guardians' own clock, counted from the night the twenty-eight transformed.
Every date in the series is given twice: the actual year, for history and ages, and the covenant year, counted from Year 0 in 1375. It's a hidden world that never once steps outside our own.
